Palo Pinto County Abstract Company was established in 1882, making it the oldest title company in Palo Pinto County, Texas.  It is also the only locally owned title company in Palo Pinto County Texas.

The company has been in the Grantham family since 1915 when Orville Herbert Grantham (1893-1962) started working in the business.  He soon acquired several title companies in the county and consolidated them into Palo Pinto County Abstract Company, which was the only title company in Palo Pinto County, Texas until 1959.

O.H. Grantham's son, Orville Johnson "Poe" Grantham (1927-1999), started working for the company in 1946.  Poe's daughter Karen Louise (Grantham) Davis (1953-) came to work for the company in 1971 and in 1975, Poe's son Neal Franklin Grantham (1957-) started working for the company.

Today, Neal Grantham handles all of the escrow closings, while Karen Davis handles all posting of the records.
